Bud HesterBud Hester began working at Disney in 1954. By the mid 1960s he was a Key Assistant Animator.
In 1960-61 he was an animator at Snowball, Inc. on Bob Clampett's Time for Beany, where one of his co-workers was a layout artist named Willie Ito.
Back at Disney's, Key Assistants were responsible for keeping the quality of the Animator's drawings needed to fully play out the action on the screen. Bud continued at this job through the production of The Rescuers.
Bud served several terms as President of The Animation Guild, Local 839 and then became its Business Representative. For the past 20 years he has taught a history of animation class at the Guild's American Animation Institute.
