From the August 2004 Peg-Board
Retired painter ELSE CRUZ passed away peacefully after a very long illness on August 4, 2004 at the age of eighty-three. From 1972 until 1990, she spent most of her animation career at Hanna-Barbera, but also worked for Filmation, Ruby-Spears, Film Roman, Bakshi, Murakami-Wolf and Fox on The Simpsons.
She is survived by four daughters, all of whom have worked in animation (Paulette Bennett, Betina Bastien, Suzette Darling and Anita Madrid), and by her son-in-law, animator and story artist Mike Bennett
