Marc Davis

From the January 2000 Peg-Board

Animator MARC DAVIS died on January 12, 2000. He started at Disney in 1935 and worked in animation up through 101 Dalmatians, after which he worked for WED until his retirement. He received the MPSC Golden Award in 1985.

Marc was one of the master animators of the twentieth century, known at Disney as one of the famous Nine Old Men. He gave life to Cruella DeVil, Maleficent and a number of other beautiful Disney moments. But beyond his skill as an artist and teacher he was a man who regardless of his fame always had time to make new friends and spend time with the young. He was my friend and I shall miss him.
