1988 Golden Award honoree ED DEMATTIA died on January 11, 1997. Starting in 1938, he worked as an animator for Disney, Screen Gems, MGM, UPA, Lantz, Warners, Sketchbook, Sutherland, Grantray-Lawrence, Creston, DePatie-Freleng, Hanna-Barbera, Bakshi-Krantz and Filmation.
