John Gentilella

Animator and 1984 Golden Award winner JOHN GENTILELLA died on December 26, 1997. He started at Van Beuren in 1932 and worked for Terrytoons, Famous, Paramount, Adventure Films, Hal Seeger, Hanna-Barbera, Steve Krantz, Ralph Bakshi and John Hubley. As an animator and instructor at the New York Institute of Technology in the 'seventies, "Johnny Gent" was one of the first classic animators to work in the early phases of CGI animation.
