1985 Golden Award winner DON PATTERSON died on December 12, 1998 at the age of eighty-nine. From 1930 until his retirement in 1988, he worked as an animator and director for Mintz, Screen Gems, Disney, MGM, Lantz, Grantray-Lawrence, Filmation, John Hubley, Sanrio and Hanna-Barbera. A bust of Patterson was erected at the Cuckoo's Nest studio in Taipei, in honor of his training efforts at the Taiwanese studio.
